Since 2015

For nearly a decade, Stock Transport has provided Phoenix Modular Elevator with reliable logistics support, transporting their oversized modular elevators across the United States.

Based in Mt. Vernon, Illinois

Phoenix Modular Elevator operates out of a 40,000 square foot state-of-the-art manufacturing facility located roughly 60 miles from our headquarters in Lebanon.

Creators of the Modular Elevator

Founded as a response to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Phoenix Modular Elevator delivers elevators to 34 states and four Canadian provinces.

The Challenge

Phoenix Modular Elevators are constructed offsite and typically 75% built by the time they’re delivered to their customer’s job site.

Modular elevators are usually part of a larger building project, and timing is critical as delivery delays can have a ripple effect on their customer’s overall project. With this in mind, Phoenix came to Stock Transport looking for a partner who could be trusted with a turnkey delivery solution for their loads. Each transport demands meticulous planning and execution, from permitting to routing to final delivery.

Key Requirements:

Permitting and Route Planning
Each state requires permits for oversized loads, a process that can take weeks to be approved. Once approved, you have a narrow window of opportunity to execute in that state. Delays are not an option.
Qualifications & Insurance
These loads require interstate authority through the Department of Transportation and high-value insurance to protect our customers as their product is transported across state lines.
Hands-off Delivery
Once the modular elevators are loaded onto the truck, Phoenix Modular Elevator prefers minimal interaction, relying on Stock to manage the delivery end-to-end.
Driver & Crew Expertise
These loads require drivers with extensive experience in multi-axle trailer operations, familiarity with the route requirements, and the ability to safely handle high-value, oversized loads across long distances.
Weather and Timing Considerations
Drivers must navigate various weather conditions and adhere to specific driving curfews in different cities, ensuring timely and safe delivery.

Our Solution

Before partnering with Stock, Phoenix Modular Elevator struggled to find a logistics partner able to meet the complex requirements of these transports, particularly with long-haul destinations like California.

Phoenix Modular’s search for a capable logistics partner led them to Stock Transport after discovering our expertise and reputation as a reliable, high-touch freight partner.

Comprehensive Route Planning

Stock meticulously plans each route, considering state permit requirements, fuel costs, weather conditions, and necessary escorts, especially for California deliveries. This includes calculating driver layover pay and adjusting routes based on curfews and road conditions.

Permitting and Compliance:

Our dedicated dispatcher makes these arrangements with each state we travel through, applying for all permits and adjusting routes to accommodate varying state and city regulations. This value-added service simplifies logistics for Phoenix Modular.

Experienced Drivers

Stock employs drivers with extensive experience in handling multi-axle trailers and oversized loads. These drivers are carefully vetted for their work ethic and ability to manage high-value shipments. We also tap into our trusted network of escort vehicle services to ensure seamless delivery and provide ground support from our headquarters in Illinois.

Operational Support

Stock provides guidance on best practices for load preparation and optimization, helping Phoenix Modular Elevator avoid significant cost increases on oversized load rates, ensure safe transport of their products, and overall streamline their loading processes for efficient transportation. During transport, Stock maintains open lines of communication with Phoenix Modular Elevator to provide updates and prevent any hiccups during the move.
